  1. Very enterprising! I’m tempted to take them up on their offer….the dog ate all my daughter’s candy, including her as-yet-unopened chocolate bunny! Another lesson on “Why We Don’t Leave Things on the Floor When We Have a Lab For a Pet”.

I’m guessing candy salad is all the things that end up at the bottom of the Easter basket. Or do they pick out all the green things? Calling it salad makes it sound so nutritious! I like that! Smart boys!

  2. You must be so proud.

  3. what’s a candy salad?!! (I agree with VHMom–the boys are smart–they’ve learned that ladies will buy it if it’s called a “salad!”)

    Sounds better than barnacles!

  4. Oh LORD that is SO CUTE.

  5. Damn, your kids are entrepreneurial!

  6. Mmmmm….candy salad! Also, our Lab ate all the Easter candy a few years ago, and pooped out colored foil for days, VHMom!

  7. LOL… So this is what it takes to get me to come out of lurk-dom? - I remember at 10 setting up a stall in front of our house together with one of my brothers selling frog-spawn and tadpoles. I had “fished” the tadpoles with a net at a near-by stream and attempted to sell them to our neighbours - not one found a new home! - Chocolate needs to be used up at some point though - it would be a waste - they put those “use by” dates on there for a reason you know, - you’ll be doing the world a favour in reducing the food mountain by buying some…

  8. LOL that is so funny!

  9. Being in the wholesale food business, I can assure you those boys have jobs waiting for them if they can sell at those margins!!! Can they start Monday?

  10. I want to “steal some of that sugar”.

  11. hi anne, just drafting a piece about home hair colouring, can I link it to your post about the same? xxx

  12. Now that is simply AWESOME!

  13. I could really go for one of the reece’s eggs. Those are my fav and I did not get any this year. Are there any of those??

  14. See how much of the candy salad you can shoplift for me. My kids have gotten too precise with their inventory–I can’t snitch a piece or two without their realizing it.

Also, I noted on an earlier post that we must have birthdays a week or so apart and have both hit that old-lady number: 40.

Chin hairs. Ugh. Hand me another chocolate bunny and put me out of my misery.

  15. sounds like they’re ready for the lemonade stand.

on the post about eyes: my dad always told me to never do smaller than 12 pt on a resume b/c the people that make decisions need the type that size. He worked in personnel for awhile.

found you through notes on a napkin.

I'm Anne Glamore, wife, mother, lawyer and blogger. I have three boys, and I'm desperately trying to train them to become Southern gentlemen, but that may be an unrealistic goal. At this point I'd be ecstatic if they'd quit farting at the dinner table. If you're new here, check out the Readers' Favorite Posts below or browse through the Categories. I write about my attempts to teach the boys about peckers and sex (which we call "making googly eyes"), my struggles with hepatitis C and spine surgery, the boys' adventures with fire and pets, my mom's death from ovarian cancer, my love of cooking (with plenty of recipes) and anything else that crosses my mind. What I'm Reading

This book is told from an alcoholic's point of view. It provides insight into the disease, rehab and AA. Well worth reading if you're close to a severe alcoholic.

I've never read any of his fiction, but his book about the craft of writing was awesome.

Hey, I have a story in this book about how I'm not always the best mom. It's guaranteed to make you feel better about yourself, especially the part where I throw stuff at Finn.

I put this golden oldie here because I love it and if you haven't read it you're missing out.

    The Boys Are Loving

I heard Rick Riordan interviewed on NPR and went directly to the library to get these books. Porter absolutely adored them-- they were by far the biggest hit of the year.

Drew and Porter are fighting over these books. Enough said.

I didn't think Porter would like this, but I was desperate for him to read something, so I shoved it at him and it was a WINNER.

Hooray-- there's a sequel to the original Diary. The guys are snarfing it up.

Porter finished all the Harry Potter books so I started him on A Wrinkle In Time, and he's enjoying it. I bought the whole set so he'd have plenty to read for the next few months.
