“Beast”, huh? I’m still hung up on “sweet”, “rad”, and “whack”. I suppose “cool” is always a good fallback. It has a sort of timelessness to it.

This whole conversation reminds me of that cool kid from Never Been Kissed: “Rufus. It’s my new cool word. Spread it around like wildfire.”

I always wonder how they start.

So I asked Joseph (my 12-yr old son) about “beast.”

Seems he hasn’t heard that one before (maybe it hasn’t yet made it to the midwest :-).

When I told him the word means something ‘cool,’ he went on to say, “oh, you mean something ‘raw’ or ‘righteous.”

Yeah, that’s what I mean…

I like to think that I keep up with the times and the lingo pretty well, but this post showed me that I’m living in a dream world! I had to check out the urban dictionary to get the full definition of “beast”. Can I still say “cool”, or does that make me old?
