Coincidence?

Things are getting suspiciously groovy chez Glamore. Long hair is the trend. Two-thirds of my boys are wearing necklaces. Yesterday I helped Drew tie-dye a shirt. (The kit was a Christmas gift from Aunt Lulu.)

Today I went into Finn’s room and saw this “water glass” by his bed.

bong

I was alarmed, and I smelled something that made me feel woozy.

deertail

I hope it was the severed deer’s tail, and not something else.

  1. In my house, I have enough body parts of animals, as well as full bodies and heads of others , I could make a new species. I still have a dead snake in a jar that my youngest son got when he was around 8 ! haa haha He is soon to be 30! I am saving these priceless possessions for his children ! Don’t you know the daughter in law will appreciate it ????? haha By the way, years ago, we had a HORRIBLE smell in our house and we just could not figure out where it was coming from or what it was… after MUCH searching, we nosed in on a tackle box in the basement that still had shrimp/squid bait in it from the previous fall. Apparently, it froze in the winter and thawed out in the spring to a non-fresh smell! Nothing like those boys!!!

  2. Oh, they call that a water glass eh?

  3. A water glass by any other name….

Also, when you said they kept the deer tail, I guess I was picturing something a little less….big. I guess I’ve never seen a deer’s rear close up.

I'm Anne Glamore, wife, mother, lawyer and blogger. I have three boys, and I'm desperately trying to train them to become Southern gentlemen, but that may be an unrealistic goal. At this point I'd be ecstatic if they'd quit farting at the dinner table. If you're new here, check out the Readers' Favorite Posts below or browse through the Categories. I write about my attempts to teach the boys about peckers and sex (which we call "making googly eyes"), my struggles with hepatitis C and spine surgery, the boys' adventures with fire and pets, my mom's death from ovarian cancer, my love of cooking (with plenty of recipes) and anything else that crosses my mind. Alltop, confirmation that I kick ass

    What I'm Reading

I've never read any of his fiction, but his book about the craft of writing was awesome.

Hey, I have a story in this book about how I'm not always the best mom. It's guaranteed to make you feel better about yourself, especially the part where I throw stuff at Finn.

I'd heard a lot about this and enjoyed it, but not as much as one of my all-time faves:

    The Boys Are Loving

I didn't think Porter would like this, but I was desperate for him to read something, so I shoved it at him and it was a WINNER.

Hooray-- there's a sequel to the original Diary. The guys are snarfing it up.

Porter finished all the Harry Potter books so I started him on A Wrinkle In Time, and he's enjoying it. I bought the whole set so he'd have plenty to read for the next few months.

After finishing the Harry Potters, Drew turned to the Hardy Boys. He can't tell a story "in a nutshell," so I've heard all about the missing jalopy, and the red wig. Solve the mystery already!
