Haiku Me!

agpic

I rarely win things, but I’ve been named a finalist over at Rocks in my Dryer in the Haiku about my mom contest.

Am I the only one whose mother haunts me about my haircolor? You should hear what my dead grandmother whispers in my ear every time I pop a piece of chewing gum in my mouth. (”It’s so unbecoming, dee-ah.”)

Anyway, at least help me make a respectable showing. And my haircolor is Loreal Coleur Experte 6.3. You know you want it. (Sorry, Mom.)

Just for kicks, I’ve added a picture of me at my (fake) blondest:

and a picture of me this past summer

Luv ya 6.3!

You can have whatever opinion you want about my HAIR - it’s the haiku I need the votes on.

Go here to vote - I’m the second circle. Thanks!

  4. Oooh, I LOVE Loreal Coleur Experte, and I’m glad to know I’m not the only one! But I’m a 6.6 girl, myself.

  6. I, being probably close to the age of your Mother, like you hair a lot better blonde. The ex-wife of my husband, of now 40 years, was a red head. Maybe, that sways my vote!!
I really do enjoy your site! I have twin nephews, now 40, and they were a hoot growing up. Had their own languge, etc. I’m sure you know!!

  8. Hey … you need to play this like American Idol and be sure that everyone votes lots because the one in the number one position is winning the 1000 bucks …

  9. I know this is off topic, but I thought you might be interested….the folks at Edgewood Creamery (same as Mountainbrook Creamery) told me they get their icecream from the SAME people who make Baskin Robbins ice cream. Hence the same flavors I loved as a kid!

Alltop, confirmation that I kick ass

    What I'm Reading

I've never read any of his fiction, but his book about the craft of writing was awesome.

Hey, I have a story in this book about how I'm not always the best mom. It's guaranteed to make you feel better about yourself, especially the part where I throw stuff at Finn.

I'd heard a lot about this and enjoyed it, but not as much as one of my all-time faves:

    The Boys Are Loving

I didn't think Porter would like this, but I was desperate for him to read something, so I shoved it at him and it was a WINNER.

Hooray-- there's a sequel to the original Diary. The guys are snarfing it up.

Porter finished all the Harry Potter books so I started him on A Wrinkle In Time, and he's enjoying it. I bought the whole set so he'd have plenty to read for the next few months.

After finishing the Harry Potters, Drew turned to the Hardy Boys. He can't tell a story "in a nutshell," so I've heard all about the missing jalopy, and the red wig. Solve the mystery already!
