It’s Sweeping The Nation
Is your third-grader hanging a paper clip on his earlobe and wearing it all day at school? No? Well, then, I’m sorry to tell you that he is completely out of touch with the latest fashion craze, started by one of my own sons, Drew Glamore.
Drew has always been ahead of the latest trend, as you can see here:

No other three-year-old thought of wearing his cow-patterned pants every day until they evolved into cunning capris. Tres vogue!
Five years later, Drew still has his finger on the pulse of the latest fad. All you need for this style is a colored plastic paper clip:

preferably in a color that coordinates with your outfit.
Squeeze the paper clip on to your ear and voila! You’re ready for a day at school, and the ladies will be mighty impressed.

Oh, my God. I am in SO MUCH trouble. Boys wearing paperclips as jewelry? What will they come up with next?
And by the by … how do you feel about Heelys? (for the record, I HATE them and hope they are TOTALLY out of fashion by the time my son is old enough to want to wear them)

I’m glad it’s plastic. That’s got to be more comfortable than metal. And that first photo is stunning.

Budding designer on your hands there..its important to be at the forefront of fashion.
I’ll let my third grade teacher friends know that this will be coming. They’ll be excited that paperclips can go in the treasure box!

Is he wearing his brother’s Axe, as my third-grader has been? Also, does Drew have a clip in both ears or just the right?

Please do not let the boy get in touch with his feminine side at this tender age. Let’s raise Men - not Sissies.

My oldest daughter wore paper clips for earrings when I stole her earrings last year. She actually put them through her ears. And she is 13.
I was so embarrassed. And they say we embarrass our kids! Ever gone out with a five-year-old who dressed herself today? That’s embarrassing, too.

Very Funny. I found something that isn’t sweeping the nation but is being read by all my mom friends. I just finished it, “The Book of Mom” by Taylor Wilshire, a novel about a mom with little kids that is overworked, underappreciated and loses her passion to life AND how she finds her authentic self and gets her passion to life back. I am not into self-help or new-age ideas, but this book was the best thing I have read in ages. I laughed and could relate and it got into my head how I can parent better and live a happier life. Have you read it?

For many years I have known the secret asthectic value of colored paperclips. I’ve been wearing them as make-shift hair clips around my office for many years. They are just right for those stray, in-between-haircuts sideswept bangs!
Now I know what to do if I ever leave the house without earings..LOL!
Thanks Drew!
